Edgar Rice Burroughs, A princess of Mars, McClurg, 1917, 1st edition.
One of SF legends (although for the life of me it is not SF- adventure, romance, but not SF), one of only 10200 copies printed. Book one of John Carter adventures on Mars. Book was accepted so well, it supported 10 more sequels.
Condition. Brown boards display no wear, some dirt, not much. Red imprint on the front board and spine intact. Binding strong, front hinge started, rear one good. Pages mostly clean, off-white, with foxing, no marks or writing in the book. One sheet, pages 183-186 just inserted, not bound- original binding defect, no holes for binding thread, see picture 13 please. All 5 plates present and attached. Page 297-8 crinkled, see picture 14 please. No restorations. Overall good to very good copy, scarce in any condition
