This hand carved stone possibly alabaster fireplace. Keystone shield shape looks to be a pretty marble color with green and red. It is just about 8 1/4 inches wide by 10 inches high by nearly 2 inches deep. This has been in our family for at least 60 years that I can remember. My father used to have a truck and whenever they were in need of someone to haul away houses that were being demolished he would always come home with something and this was one of them.I believe this was an old home on Broad Street in Meriden, Connecticut one town over from where it is now. I’m not sure what the white spot is on the top, but I did try and remove a little of it, but wanted to leave it as is. The back is marked 1809 and then it looks to be an H.
