PRESIDENT make 30 /31 Day wind up clockwork mechanical spring wall clock which strikes hourly and half hourly bongs with brass pendulum in full working condition with accurate timekeeping.
Key provided
This is a vintage President 30/31-day mechanical wall clock featuring a wooden case with glass hinged front door - black roman numerals numbers on a silver coloured dial face and a visible brass pendulum.
Wind-up mechanical movement designed to run for a month between windings.
In very good working condition
The clock features ornate gold-colored corner pieces on the dial and decorative glass panels.
The clock strikes a single ‘bong’ on the half hour and the correct number of ‘bongs’ on the hour.
Lovely Rich sounding bong - see and hear video.
There is no night time auto shut off for the strikes so if you do not want the ‘bonging’ you will either have to tie up the striking hammer OR (better method) simply do not wind up the spring that operates the striking mechanism. Just wind up the clock timing action spring.
Also please note the tick tock is very pleasant but NOT quiet so if you are a light sleeper make sure it’s positioned in the house correctly !
No operating manual but simple to set up and operate as follows -
Hang straight (there is a single point hanging hook / Hole to make wall mounting easy.
Wind up both the springs (unless you don’t want the bongs)
SET THE CORRECT TIME BY MOVING THE MINUTE HAND CLOCKWISE SLOWLY. DO NOT TOUCH THE HOUR HAND AND ONLY GO CLOCKWISE. MAKE SURE YOU PAUSE AT EVERY HALF HOUR AND EVERY HOUR TO LET THE STRIKES / BONGS OPERATE UNTIL YOU REACH THE CORRECT TIME.

President 31-day wall clocks were manufactured between 1975 and 1985.During this decade, these mechanical pendulum clocks peaked in global popularity. They were mass-produced in large quantities by specialized factories in South Korea and Japan, then imported into the UK by firms like the Prescott Clock & Watch Co. Ltd based in London. Prescott marketed them under regional household trade names, with "President" being one of their primary brands
