The Great Heresy reaches its ultimate, tragic climax after seven years of galactic civil war. The Golden Throne

Back on the surface of Terra, the loyalist defense is shattered, and the fabric of time and reality is actively tearing apart. To allow the Emperor the chance to fight Horus, Malcador the Sigillite sits upon the agonizing Golden Throne. The psychic strain is turning him to ash, minute by minute, holding open the webway portal against an infinite tide of daemons.

A Tragic Victory

The story chronicles the brutal, psychic, and physical duel between father and son. While the Emperor ultimately triumphs, the victory comes at a catastrophic cost. Primarch Sanguinius lies dead, the Emperor is physically broken beyond repair, and humanity is permanently locked into a dark, stagnant future of eternal war and religious fanaticism.
