ORIGINAL & VERY GOOD+ Condition WWI Barbed Wire Cutters Dated 1918

?These are ORIGINAL barbed wire cutters as issued to Doughboys during WWI to cut through barbed entanglements during their advance in battle.  The cutters are in VERY GOOD+ condition and still have the residue of cosmoline on them (hence the photography on newspaper), which can be easily removed using a solvent such as paint thinner.  The cutters are marked on the handle with "US/DCHS Co./1918" (see close-up above), which is said to be an American firm which manufactured the cutters based on a French model then in use on the Western Front.  Here's an opportunity for the advanced WWI collector to obtain increasingly rare cutters for a reasonable price. The buyer will have my usual unconditional guarantee of authenticity and satisfaction and a five-day (not the 14-days that they insert in my listings without my consent) right of inspection and return/refund privilege, excluding postage. PLEASE NOTE: The cutters will be mailed in a padded envelope by parcel post mail at the lowest possible postage, with a refund of any unused postage after mailing.
