FOR THIS SERVICE
This offer is to refurbish your vacuum cannister /
chamber - the piston/lockring and
the air pipe on your own servo
*** PLEASE NOTE***
This service in isolation is only suitable for servos
where the internal seals in the alloy body are
not leaking and moving as required -
Typically your piston assembly would be sticking with
foreign matter found in the vacuum chamber
causing sticking and also alloy dust under the air valves.
*** WARNING ***
On occasions the vacuum chamber is so corroded
that after cleaning pin holes may be evident.
AND
Recent experiences have shown that frequently
the inner surface of the main chamber has become excessively
corroded, when cleaned various pitting is very evident requiring
the can to be re-machined to form a good surface for the seal.
This is not surprising seeing these at some 60 years old.
We re - machine typically removing 0.2mm
we limit machining to - 0.5mm but even so at this limit
tiny imperfections may possibly remain.
Machining and polishing takes circa1 hour
of machine time - so this is costly.
Cost is £72
A black powder coating service is also available
Further the leather seal may have deteriorated
and is in need of replacement .
Leather seals are unavailable but we do have a
REPLACEMENT RUBBER SEAL - £36
If the piston assembly is sent at the same time
it will be cleaned without charge as will the air pipe.
There is however a charge of £18
to remove the original seal and split the piston.
Please also look at the piston actuating rod
this must be clean and free of corrosion
to work correctly, some we have seen with
excessive corrosion and pitting - as these run through
rubber seals they must run on a clean surface.
New piston rods are £18
A set of 3 gaskets are require to reassemble
plus an air filter rubber seal is advisable
Gasket cost £7.50 for the 3 gaskets
Air filter seal £3.90 includes screw and washer
WARNING
Above all the rule in reassembly is cleanliness
Particular attention should be given to any corrosion
found in the drillings under the air filter.
There is a 6.5mm air hole under the rubber seal
this is frequently clogged and can be missed
Ensure any powder like substance is totally removed.
