Rare Brown University Notebook Featuring University of Wisconsin Seal

Offered is an unusual and potentially one-of-a-kind piece of collegiate memorabilia from Brown University.

This spiral notebook is clearly marked Brown University and The University Store – Faunce House, yet the front cover prominently displays the official University of Wisconsin seal and block “W” logo rather than the expected Brown University crest.

Included in the provenance is another authentic Brown University notebook belonging to Edward William Girard, a Brown University Physics student who later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era. The second notebook contains an original course card identifying:

* Physics 12

* Section 8

* Seat 22

The existence of a standard Brown notebook from the same student strongly suggests the Wisconsin-seal notebook represents an unusual production anomaly, printer’s error, or limited-run manufacturing mix-up rather than a later alteration.
