Wedgwood Majolica seasoning container Salt & pepper set green leaf F/S from JP

Description

This is an antique condiment set by Wedgwood. I purchased it at an antique shop in Ebisu about ten years ago. This item is a "Green Leaf" pattern condiment set in Majolica ware, produced by the renowned British pottery manufacturer Wedgwood. The design features a cabbage motif; it is colored in emerald green, and the glaze gives the surface a glass-like finish. It was manufactured at the Etruria factory—which has since closed—and bears the stamp adopted after 1940 on the underside. (BARLASTON = Barlaston, UK) (of ETRURIA = Etruria factory) You may notice what looks like a small hole on the underside; this is a characteristic feature of the pottery itself, not a crack or chip sustained later. Similarly, the fine lines on the surface that resemble cracks are known as "crazing," a phenomenon that occurs during the manufacturing process. There are no major cracks, chips, or fractures; however, please note that as this is a vintage, pre-owned item, there may be some dullness or minor surface wear.
