This Beuscher Alto Saxophone is a well loved model made around 1951 just after the Big B era and generally considered to be of the same quality. There is at least one pad where the resonator looks totally different. It's metal with a rivet in the middle. The others are dome shaped. I do not know if they are the original snap in. I'm able to get a sound out of it, even on the low end, but it is not easy. I checked with a leak light and it is quite leaky. This horn will need a professional repad and setup to be in playing condition.

Issues that I know of:

* Needs a repad, some pads are ripped. I can get a sound out of it even low notes, but it's a struggle

* Octave rod is bent (clearly shown in photos)

* Octave mechanism in general looks a little twisted and the knob on the end has white tape or something. It does function though

* There is plenty of lacquer wear and some dark brown discoloration on one of the keys and guards (from soldering heat?) One key is almost completely stripped of lacquer

* There are a few small dents. I tried to capture any that I saw in close detail, but of course that is a challenge due to the reflective nature of metal!

* Neck cork is very compressed

* Keywork feels clicky / clunky, needs adjustment, new cork/felts, etc

So as I said a project! It needs an overhaul. But it's a nice well respected horn and is about middle of the road in terms of appearance. Case and horn are musty. I'm trying to decrease that, but I would imagine you'll want to toss the case. This would be a very fun horn to restore.
