Publisher: Wilding & Son, Shrewsbury, 1914, first, Edition de Luxe, numbered 66 and signed by the author. Bound in its original red cloth with titles on the spine and top board in gilt. Untrimmed edges. Very good condition, with repairs to the hinges of the spine, occasional light foxing spots, mainly clean and bright. Signed by the author on the edition number plate on the endpaper. A further gift inscription on the free endpaper, dated 1914. Illustrated with photographs, mainly taken by the author, and line drawings, by Miss M. K. Forrest. At the end of the book there is a folding map of the area. The book covers houses and history of Wenlock, Wenlock Edges, Corvedale, Broseley District and Madely. Five Appendices list the Priors, Vicars, Bailiffs, Mayors and Members of Parliament of Wenlock, followed by a list of subscribers. 22cm. 8.75 inches, tall, vii, 1p Corrigenda, 135 pages.
