Nice collection of 14 original German commemorative postage stamps from 1943–1944, mounted on a vintage album page headed “Deutsches Reich – Gedenkmarken.” The group appears to be mint / unused, and the old collector has conveniently penciled many of the Michel catalog numbers and contemporary Deutsche Mark valuations beneath the stamps.

The collection includes several complete sets and individual commemorative issues. The catalog numbers visible on the album page correspond with the Michel listings for these issues.

The Mi 869–872 Mother & Child series is complete, consisting of all four denominations: 3+2, 6+4, 12+8 and 15+10 Pfennig.

Also included is the attractive Mi 857–858 Vienna Grand Prix horse-racing pair, along with the Mi 860–861 German Goldsmith's Art pair. Mi 860–861 depict St. George and the Dragon and were issued October 1, 1943.

Important value note: The handwritten DM amounts are the older collector/catalog values recorded directly on this vintage album page, rather than current retail prices. They are an interesting part of the collection's provenance and have been left exactly as found.

The stamps display very nicely together and cover a diverse selection of late-war German postal subjects including horse racing, Lübeck, Robert Koch, goldsmithing, social welfare, Fulda and other commemorative events.

Condition:
Overall attractive vintage condition. Stamps appear unused/mint from the photographs, with clean faces and generally strong colors. Because gum and hinge status cannot be fully verified from the fronts alone, please examine all photographs carefully. The exact 14 stamps and vintage album page pictured are included.
