Antique Early Edwardian period Imported Sterling Silver Trinket or Pill Box in a Hexagonal format repousse decorated to both lid and inside floor with a traditional scene of that of a Georgian era Lady and Gentleman within the gardens and on the grounds of a stately home, the side walls to the box are finished with a perpetual gallery of floral wag patterning.
In Very good condition the box is without holes, splits, damages or repairs, has a pleasing aged patination and retains a firm fitting to the lid and body with a smith hinged movement to the spine.
The inside lip to the box is impressed with good clear markings indicating Chester Assay office circa 1902 with the importers mark for Samuel Boyce of Campden Square, London, also present is the Foreign import mark, the piece no doubt being Dutch export.
The box when closed shut stands 1.5 cm tall and has a width and breadth of 3.7 cm x 3.7 cm.
A lovely example of the period, still very much usable.
