An original 1755 edition of Julius Caesar’s Commentaries, presented in a new translation with the original Latin text printed alongside it. Caesar’s firsthand accounts of his military campaigns remain among the most important surviving works of classical history, offering detailed descriptions of strategy, diplomacy, politics, geography, and Roman warfare. This volume was printed by Joseph Barbou and features an engraved printer’s ornament on the title page. Its parallel-text format makes it especially appealing to collectors of Julius Caesar, Roman history, classical literature, military history, and early Latin books. The title page is dated M.DCC.LV (1755).
