Illustrated by legendary Pokémon artist Mitsuhiro Arita.

Released in 2000 during the iconic Neo era, Awakening Legends featured an incredible lineup of Generation II Pokémon and remains a memorable vintage Japanese expansion. Arita’s artwork places Houndoom beneath a dark, sparkling sky surrounded by a fiery landscape, creating an amazing scene that perfectly captures the intimidating presence of the Dark Pokémon. A well-placed holo swirl can also be seen directly behind Houndoom’s head.

Known for its eerie howl and the flames it produces from toxins within its body, Houndoom remains one of the most recognizable Dark-type Pokémon introduced during Generation II. The dramatic atmosphere, classic artwork, and vintage Japanese card design make this a standout piece from the Neo era.
