ARTS & CRAFTS CANDLESTICKS c1900 SILVER PLATED MANNER OF EDWARD SPENCER MATCHED PAIR


 

Matched pair of Arts & Crafts silver plated candlesticks circa 1900.  Hammered surfaces & rope twist mouldings in the manner of Edward Spencer for the Artificers Guild.  The footrims stamped by maker W. G. Sothers.

These candlesticks are not identical, they are a matched pair.  Both made by Sothers but each stamped with different design registry numbers.  One is slightly shorter & one has smaller hammered indentations than the other. 
 

Marks: W G S Ltd; Rd 684185 and the other W G S Ld; Rd 685340.  
 

Light wear to the silver plating creating an attractive copper glow from below the surface.  Very good structural condition.  

Dimensions: one is approx 8½ inches tall, the other is 8 inches tall.
