Tamiya 87225 Chipping Liquid 40ml – Realistic Paint Chipping Effect
This chipping liquid is designed to create realistic paint damage effects commonly seen on military models, where the top coat appears worn and chipped to reveal the base layer underneath.
Apply a lacquer-based base coat first, then apply the chipping liquid by brush or airbrush. After that, apply an acrylic top coat. Once dry, moisten the surface with water and gently remove the top layer using a toothpick or similar tool to create natural chipping effects.
Because the top layer is physically removed, it produces a more authentic and natural weathering effect compared to painted-on scratches.
