Description: Striking and highly detailed very interesting unusual original colored lithographic map of Suzhou, Eastern China. The map shows navigable canals, stone bridges, the Big Pagoda, Soochow University, Confucian temples, consular offices, Catholic missions, railway line, rivers and streets.

Date: 1920 approx. ( undated )

Dimension: Paper size approx.: cm 29 x 28

Condition: Very strong and dark impression on good paper. Sheet old original colored. Small foxing.  Map folded. Conditions are as you can see in the images.

Author: Carl Crow (1884–1945) was a Highland, Missouri-born newspaperman, businessman, and writer who managed several newspapers and then opened the first Western advertising agency in Shanghai, China. He ran the agency for 19 years, creating calendar advertisements. He was also the founding editor of the Shanghai Evening Post and Mercury.
