A rare one off, original hand-painted railway picture, believed to be acrylic paint on board with amazing life like detail. it was a absolute pleasure to own for i and my father, and a great talking piece, sadly i doesn't fit with our downsized property. The painting depicts the red LMS Jubilee Class steam locomotive No. 5690 Leander, carrying the Cumbrian Mountain Express headboard. Signed A. S. Kay in the lower-left corner. Purchased in Haworth years ago and possibly painted by a local artist, although the exact railway location shown is unknown and it cannot be confirmed as Haworth or oakworth station. but is Highley likely. Framed but no glass, as it is acrylic paint, which should not be covered by glass, to allow it to breath, measuring approximately 50cm x 40cm overall. The painting remains colourful, bright and attractive. The frame and mount have some age-related wear, which can be seen in the photographs. A lovely display piece for a railway, steam-train, LMS or transport enthusiast's.
