This is a vintage postcard depicting King Street in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The large, prominent tower visible in the background belongs to the historic Old Huddersfield Market Hall. Following a severe electrical fire in 1965, the market eventually closed down in 1970. During the final stages of its scheduled demolition in May 1970, the prominent clock tower unfortunately collapsed unexpectedly. 

The left foreground showcases classic late-Victorian and Edwardian retail architecture with decorative striped canvas awnings over the storefronts. A traditional horse-drawn carriage can be seen on the right side of the cobble-paved street.
