Authentic Japanese woodblock print by celebrated Kyoto artist Teruhide Kato (1936–2015), titled Senbon Torii ("A Thousand Torii Gates").
This striking composition portrays the iconic Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto, one of Japan's most recognizable cultural landmarks. The endless rows of vibrant vermilion torii gates create a dramatic sense of depth and rhythm, capturing the spiritual beauty and timeless atmosphere of this sacred place.
Originally acclaimed as a kimono designer, Teruhide Kato later devoted himself to traditional Kyoto woodblock printmaking and gained international recognition through exhibitions in New York and other major cities.
This later edition was hand-printed using the original woodblocks.
