This is an antique Japanese copper tsuba featuring a design of a carp transforming into a dragon, inspired by the Chinese legend of the Dragon Gate.

The front depicts the carp that has become a dragon, while the reverse shows the carp ascending the waterfall.

The design symbolizes success, prosperity, and perseverance, expressed through fine high‑relief carving on the suaka (pure copper) surface.
