An unused bolt of Oshima Tsumugi, the refined kasuri (ikat) silk weave that Japan is famous for. This is the "Bijin Oshima" line by Marujin. 100% silk (shoken), woven — not printed — with the characteristic kasuri cross-blur clearly visible in the threads.

The design is a fine geometric kikko (tortoiseshell) medallion pattern. The face is a sophisticated deep charcoal-black accented in vermillion-orange and white, while the reverse reveals a striking vivid orange-dominant colorway.

Kept in its original wrapper. The selvage is marked "Silk 100%," and the wrapper carries the maker's gold "Bijin Oshima" lettering together with the maker's "M-J" registered quality-guarantee mark, indicating the cloth is fully yunoshi-finished — ready to be tailored as is.

Please note: this is the maker's own brand and quality mark. The photos do not include a Honba-Oshima cooperative certificate, so it is offered as a branded Oshima Tsumugi (not certified "Honba").

Condition:

Pre-owned, unused deadstock, no signs of wearing. As a stored vintage item, please allow for minor storage traces (slight fold lines, and light wear/marks on the wrapper). Please review all photos, which form part of the description.
