This is very nice example of the high-end optional Stereo/Cassette Player in the early 1980's GM models: a General Motors/Delco 2700 Digital ETR with DNE (Dolby Noise Reduction). This radio was COMPLETELY disassembled, cleaned and refurbished by a Delco-trained Service Technician with over 40 years experience (please read for more details about the rebuild further down in this description). It is NOT a "working when removed" or "plays fine" radio that you are hoping works when it arrives (or that you hope doesn't fail within a month after installation). This particular unit was removed from a 1984 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency and fits a wide variety of GM models with the 12-pin plug harness plug from 1978 (or 79) up until to 1990 or so in certain models (like the Jimmy, Blazer and Suburban models for example).
It is VERY hard to find these units in this condition and although it WAS GENTLY USED, it is in fantastic cosmetic condition, from the faceplate right down to the super shiny chrome buttons. Usually the LED display window is in terrible shape but this one is still shiny and clear as you can see; almost 100% of the chrome-trimmed highlights are also intact. All you need is to install your original knobs if yours are different; if you do not need the woodgrain knobs shown let me know and I will knock 20 bucks off the price! Although it appears similar, it does NOT fit the Cadillac Fleetwood and Deville models which used the wider "rabbit ears" mounting faceplate-if you have one of these models, you will know what I am talking about; Please do not rely SOLELY on eBay's "Compatibility Guide" as it is a just that: a GUIDE. I am here to answer any and all questions you may have about fitment and/or compatibility so please message me!
The radio faceplate is very clean and the entire unit has been disassembled and rebuilt (a service I can perform on your original radio and is listed for $265 here on eBay); the unit was refreshed cosmetically, cold solder joints reinforced, tape belt replaced and the capacitors and LED display digits repaired/replaced as needed. Among these other items mentioned being inspected and repaired/replaced as needed, the circuit board was cleaned and all button and control contact surfaces were also cleaned during the inspection. The AM and FM bands pick up many station clearly and all 4 speaker channels are functioning well. All in all, the radio works perfectly as seen being tested on the bench after the rebuild (please see the VIDEO and the 2nd photo being tested on the bench after the rebuild). I have also posted photos of the unit with and without the faceplate and at many different angles so you can see the true condition of the radio-it is not PERFECT but it is VERY nice with ZERO corrosion throughout and I think anyone who purchases it will not be let down by its appearance or performance.
