The Kewpies Their Book | 1913 | 80 pages | Approx. 11" x 8"
This antique children's hardcover book features illustrated boards with an orange background displaying various Kewpie characters drawn by Rose O'Neill. The interior contains illustrated endpapers and numerous pages of text accompanied by both monochrome and full-color illustrations depicting early 20th-century Kewpie stories.
The text block and interior pages remain complete with vibrant illustration colors, though there is ink handwriting on the front inside cover page. The exterior displays significant wear; the original spine is heavily damaged and split with clear, non-archival removable adhesive tape applied along the entire length of the spine and corners. Board edges show severe rubbing, corner bumping, and exposed cardboard.
