This is a pair of antique French silk passementerie tassel tiebacks in rose pink and gold-cream tones, joined by a long twisted cord with a central wrapped wood bead. The cord is a substantial two-colour twisted rope construction in rose pink  and warm  gold — a richly tactile piece of hand-crafted passementerie work that would have once held back the grand draperies of a French country house. The tassel heads are elegantly built with stacked wrapped and ribbed ornamental balls above a generous twisted-rope fringe skirt. Age wear throughout — obvious defects, beautiful charm.

CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN
- Pair of tassels with wood-core finial balls wrapped in silk thread
- Diamond cross-hatch cage work in gold-cream thread over each tassel's rose-pink ball
- Fringed silk skirts in rose pink with cream-gold accent cords running through
- Twisted rose-and-gold cord connecting the two tassels, doubled through a central wrapped wood bead
- A loop at the working end of the cord for hanging over a hook or wrapping a curtain

MEASUREMENTS
Each tassel: approximately 8 in (20.3 cm) long
Tassel body (finial ball): approximately 3 in (7.6 cm) diameter
Total cord length: approximately 60 in (152.4 cm)
Flat measurements approximate; please review photos for exact proportions

CONDITION
This pair shows noticeable discoloration and uneven fading across the silk cord and fringe, along with exposed threads where the wrapping has frayed, and areas where the wood core beneath the thread wrapping has become visible at the tassel collars and the center bead. Please review every photo closely, including the close-ups, as they are part of the description.
