This is a small antique jointed doll, standing about 4 inches tall, likely made of painted composition. The face is hand painted with blue eyes, painted brows, and red lips, topped with molded hair finished in a molded blue bow. No maker's mark or country stamp was found anywhere on the doll or its costume.

- Crossed velvet bodice in a kimono-style wrap front, trimmed along the edges
- Gathered dress skirt in a two-tone shot silk fabric with a soft sheen
- Hem finished with a red velvet band woven into the skirt hem
- Jointed hips and legs, with painted socks and painted shoes on the feet
- Legs tucked beneath a gauze underlayer inside the skirt, part of the original build securing the figure to its base

CONDITION
The painted face shows  some paint loss and flaking across the cheeks and forehead, visible in close-up photos. The silk skirt carries broad brown-toned staining across a large portion of the fabric.  No breaks were noted to the jointed limbs.
