Beautiful Victorian silver plated bottle coaster by the celebrated maker Elkington & Co. Date mark for 1856. Turned wood base with a silver plated basket style frame mounted with fine quality cast grape & vine rim. The central cartouche is engraved with original owner armorial crest, a lion paw gripping a plume of feathers.
Marks: E&CO crown logo; EM&Co; date letter R (for the year 1856); 5785.
Dimensions: approx 8 inches diameter.
Excellent condition.
