An authentic piece of early American footwear history, this rare pair of Red Cross oxford pumps dates specifically to the late 1930s to early 1940s (Pre-WWII). While the Red Cross Shoe brand itself has a rich heritage dating back to the late 19th century, this specific silhouette and early gold logo stamp place them perfectly in the pre-war era.

Featuring the highly sought-after circular gold emblem stamped on the insole—notably without the post-1948 Federal Trade Commission public disclaimer.

🔍 Condition & Wear Report

These shoes are in excellent, sturdy vintage condition for being over 80 years old, with minor wear consistent with age:

Uppers & Structure: The leather is supple with no major cracking, the back heel seams are completely intact, and the stacked heels are structurally rock-solid. The black suede retains a great, deep dark nap.

Interior: The gold foil brand stamp is crisp, bright, and highly legible. The insoles show light, normal vintage aging but remain fully intact.

Flaws to Note: One of the original black fabric shoelaces is broken and will need to be spliced or replaced. There are very minor, faint surface scuffs on the smooth leather toe caps and heels, which can easily be buffed out with standard black leather conditioner. One original rubber heel cap is chipped (see photos). The stacked heel block itself is structurally rock solid. Easily fixed by a cobbler if you plan to wear them!"
