Publisher: James Bowden, undated but 1898, first edition. Bound in illustrated paper-covered boards. Very good condition, with a little wear to the head and foot of the spine, and some surface scuffing to the board. Internally there are a very few very small light marks, mainly clean and bright. A lovely book, illustrated throughout, the verses alongside pictures, and then repeated with swirling floral borders. Uncommon. 23 cm, 9 inches, tall, 64 pages. Georgina Evelyn Cave Gaskin, known as Georgie, was a jewellery and metalwork designer, and was one of the original members of the Birmingham Group of Artist-Craftsmen in the 1890s. She also wrote and illustrated other children's books.
