Up for sale is a classic SONY WM-EX900, a high-performance "Made in Japan" model recognized for its sleek, curvy design and rich sound. This unit is currently in good working condition.

To make sure you can enjoy your music right away, I have personally performed the following maintenance:

  • New Belt: Replaced with a high-quality rubber belt.

  • Cleaning: Cleaned the head, pinch roller, gears, and internal parts.

Performance & Functions: I have confirmed the following operations:

  • Playback Tested: Basic functions—including Playback, Fast Forward (FF), and Rewind (REW)—have been tested and are working properly using 7 different cassette tapes.

  • Sound Quality: The playback speed is stable with no significant wow or flutter. It plays music normally with classic Sony analog sound.


Important Notes:
This unit operates with a gumstick battery or an AA battery. An external battery case is required for AA use. This item does not include a battery case or batteries.

Vintage Audio Notice:

Although serviced, vintage cassette players may exhibit slight wow and flutter, speed variations, minor mechanical noise, occasional inconsistent button response, or temporary unstable operation after long periods without use. These behaviors depend heavily on tape condition, battery levels, and age-related characteristics.
