A quietly powerful Edo period Buddhist zushi with intimate devotional presence.

Description

Zushi Box SIZE 6.5 in Tall

This compact wooden zushi (厨子) houses a seated figure identified as Nichiren Shonin (日蓮上人) within an architectural altar setting, carefully sourced in Japan. The dark lacquered surface, aged metal fittings, and worn pigments create a deeply atmospheric appearance. The construction and devotional format are visually consistent with late Edo (江戸期) to early Meiji period (明治) household shrines. Ideal for contemplative display, Japanese folk art collections, or study alongside Buddhist (仏教) antiques.

In most cases, accessories shown in the photos (such as stands or original storage boxes) are not included with the item. If any accessories are included, this will be clearly stated in the item title.
