The Tiny Terror! It’s obviously a total classic - 12AX7 preamp tubes and EL84 power tubes, pushing 100% analog, Class A valve tone. Masses of gain space, stunning clarity, and so cool to look at. The clunk of the switches is awesome, the dials are super responsive, and it’s the first of its kind - the lunchbox head that started it all. It rips, truly. Portable, built like a tank, and for the sale I just got done cleaning the inside and I replaced the bulb. It’s been very well cared for, never gigged, just for home practice. These are getting harder to find in such good condition…
The cab has been stored for a while in a clean storage unit, and while it’s not *looking* as vibrant as when I bought it, the speaker works perfectly and sounds incredible. I’ve cleaned the Tolex, and you could buff this baby up with some vinyl protector and have it looking bright again in no time. Some rough edges aesthetically, but sounds totally perfect - no crackle, the inputs are tight, everything works great. I think if anything, these orange cabs just get better with age - the clean sound is unreal and when you crunch up the Tiny Terror it has an incredible buzzsaw tone.
It’s got a single 60-watt Celestion Vintage 30 speaker housed in a slightly oversized, closed-back 18mm birch plywood enclosure and its stands on a strip of ply for a base. FAT tones, thick low-end response, and excellent projection - especially for gaming sounds, but like I said the clean is chimey and really sparkles.
I’d recommend this setup for home use for sure - it’s loud as hell at 15w, but that’s why Orange put the 7w setting on it! Even turned down low you get a great tone for practicing, writing, whatever you do at home. It’s also totally gig ready with a soft carry case for the head thrown in.
