Description

About This Item:

This is a vintage Japanese traditional decorative horse figurine, known as "Kazari-Uma" (decorative horse) or "Shinme" (sacred horse), estimated to date from the 1970s.
It is a handcrafted ornamental piece traditionally displayed during Boys' Day (Tango no Sekku) celebrations or as elegant Japanese home decor.
The white horse body features a wood core wrapped in fabric with a tortoiseshell embossed pattern.
The mane and tail are made from genuine natural hair, giving the piece a lifelike and refined presence.
The horse is richly adorned with vibrant orange silk fringe tassels running along the full body, a purple gold brocade saddle blanket with floral arabesque embroidery, a black lacquered saddle, blue-and-white striped reins, and gold metal ornamental fittings on the head and back.
The horse stands on a flat wooden base covered with traditional Japanese patterned fabric set in a black wooden frame.
