Birds. Featured in The Museum of Natural History by Sir John Richardson (1787-1865), a Scottish naval surgeon, naturalist and arctic explorer. Published by William Mackenzie, Edinburgh, London and New York, in 1859.

The steel engraving features illustrations of five birds: Wryneck, Cuckoo, Whiteheaded Pigeon, New-Holland Pigeon and Stock-dove, with annotations in English and Latin.

The print measures 18.5 x 27 cms, including margins, and is in good antique condition with signs of use and age-related wear. Some light tanning and foxing. Ideal for display and framing.
