Quick Setup Guide

Most replacement AC remotes work the moment you insert batteries. Here's how to get started and what to check if it doesn't respond straight away.

  Insert batteries

  Slide open the battery cover on the back and insert fresh 2x AAA batteries. Make sure polarity (+/?) is correct.

• 2
  Point at the indoor unit

  Aim the remote directly at the IR receiver on your AC's indoor unit. It's usually a small dark window on the front panel, often near the display or indicator lights.

  Press the ON/OFF button

  You should hear a beep from the unit confirming it received the signal. If the display on the remote lights up but the unit doesn't respond, move closer and try again — AC IR range is typically 6–8 metres with clear line of sight.

  Set your preferred mode

  Use the MODE button to cycle through Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan, and Auto. Adjust temperature with the up/down arrows. Your unit will remember these settings.

??Unit not responding? Make sure the AC is plugged in at the wall and the isolator switch is on. Try pressing the reset button (small pinhole) on the back of the remote with a paperclip.

??Test the IR signal — Open your phone's front-facing camera, point the remote at it, and press a button. If you see a purple/white flash on screen, the remote is transmitting correctly.

??Find your AC model number — Check the sticker on the right-hand side of your indoor unit, or on the front panel behind the air filter flap.
