This is the largest model of Movado Men’s Sapphire Mirror timepiece, Model #84.G1.4896 also a timeless classic. It features Movado’s signature minimalist design, highlighted by a striking silver "mirror-finish" dial with the iconic Movado “Rising Sun” silver dot at 12 o'clock, housed under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The stainless steel case and integrated bracelet give the watch a modern and sophisticated look, while the Swiss quartz movement ensures accurate timekeeping. The battery in your quartz watch is guaranteed to have been replaced within the past 6 months. All of our watches are shipped in a display/storage box that in most cases, corresponds to the brand.

Returns:

è  I WILL ACCEPT RETURNS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS: Five (5) day return IF DEFECTIVE and returned in same condition as received. Fair Warning: I do not accept a return on items that do not meet your needs, for example, “ordered by mistake” and/or “the watch does not fit” are not acceptable reasons and requests for return will be denied -  every listing clearly give the wrist size that particular watch will fit under the current configuration. 

è  Watches returned for any reason other than a misrepresentation in the listing are subject up to a 25% restocking fee.

 

Rating System:

Light scratching is indicative to stainless steel ~ reconditioned watches are not perfect ~ unlike a new watch they still have flaws, the price & rating system account for these differences.

è  A Rating of Three (3): some scratching will be visible to the naked eye

è  A Rating of Four (4): light scratching on the band and/or caseback may be visible to the new owner but most likely not to others ~ former “display” model generally mqy fall into this category.

è  A Rating of Five (5): The watch is either brand new and never been worn or lightly used but reconditioned with excellent results ~ any defects and/or deep scratches have been removed. 

Please Note: Although any distinction between a new and reconditioned watch with a 5 rating is difficult to discern by the naked eye, we will always indicate if a “5” is a new or a reconditioned watch. Rest assured, I will never sell you a reconditioned watch as a new, unworn watch.

 

About Us:

With more than 27 years working on Movado watches, Grandpa Don has been in business since 2001and has periodically sold refurbished watches on eBay. My primary mission has always been the satisfaction of my customers – more than 40% are repeat. I pride myself on honesty and integrity – when you purchase a Movado watch from GrandPa Don’s, you are guaranteed to receive a genuine brand watch and not a foreign knockoff.

 

Ebay uses the term “refurbished”, I prefer “reconditioned”, may just be a matter of semantics to some but there is an important difference to me. What we do is take a used watch,  and check the movement for any deficiencies or abnormalities, add a new battery to the watch, then rehab the exterior to remove as many scratches as we can without damaging the finish, or in the case of a leather band, either rehab or, when possible, replace with a genuine Movado band or top quality “off-brand”. Reconditioned does not mean the use of substitute parts or “off-brand” replacements. If new parts are needed such as a new crystal, hands, dial or movement, unless otherwise stated, we use only genuine Movado replacement parts. Add new authentic Movado Presentation/Storage boxes and where necessary (such as with chronograph watches) include a Movado Owners Manual which details/describes how to use the chronograph functions. What you receive is as close to a new watch as possible at approximately a third of the original retail price. 

 

One Additional (Unfortunate) Advisory 

I apologize that I find it necessary to even discuss this. As previously mentioned, buyers are paying approximately one-third of the retail price for my reconditioned watches. There is a trade-off, reconditioned does not suggest or infer “brand-new”.  As such, if you are looking for imperfections you will probably find them, especially under a jeweler’s loupe. I do my best to describe the condition of each watch I sell and provide at least a dozen photos (not stock photos, not someone else’s photos, not photos from a similar watch I have previously sold). Why do I find it necessary to include this “advisory” ~ especially when there are enough written conditions to make a sane lawyer quite insane. Why? because 99% of the return requests (which, by the way, represent less than .05% of the watches I have sold) are not for misrepresentation in the listings but for non-existent claims and/or an individual looking for “perfect”. For those who fall in that last category, let me save us both some time and money ~ these are not perfect watches. If you want perfect I suggest you pay the additional money and purchase a brand new watch from a retail outlet. If you want “mechanically sound and aesthetically pleasing” at approximately one-third of the retail cost, then you have come to the right place and I thank you for your business, I honestly do appreciate it.
