For sale is a Lionel Spirit of ’76 State of Connecticut Box Car #6-7605, offered in its original Lionel Spirit of ’76 window box. This is the Connecticut car from Lionel’s patriotic Bicentennial commemorative line, decorated in light blue with red, white, and blue state-history graphics.
This car is marked State of Connecticut 7605 and features Connecticut-themed graphics including the state flag, state outline, Hartford marking, and state information printed on the side. The car lists State Flower: Mountain Laurel, State Bird: Robin, State Tree: White Oak, and the Connecticut motto “He Who Transplanted, Sustains.” It also notes Connecticut’s admission to the Union on January 9, 1788.
This is a great piece for anyone collecting Lionel O Gauge, Spirit of ’76, Bicentennial trains, MPC-era Lionel, or the full set of original 13 state boxcars.
This is new old stock from long-term storage, but it is not mint.
The original box is included and shows visible age/storage wear, including staining/discoloration, shelf wear, corner wear, edge rubs, creasing, and general handling wear. The handwritten inspection note also states there is minor rust on the long-term storage boxcar and wheels.
