The
85 is one of EMG's first pickups and is loaded with Alnico V magnets,
the 85 is a powerful guitar pickup with exceptional tone and
versatility. The Alnico magnets of this model provide a muscular growl
and smooth lead tones enabling you to play everything from the blues to
the most extreme metal.
Although often used in the neck
position, make no mistake, the EMG 85 sounds great as a bridge
humbucker thanks to its exceptional smoothness and soul. This pickup
pairs well with just about every other humbucker in our line and using
our solderless system, it makes changing your tone easier than ever.
S
The
S Pickup is the ceramic version of the original SA pickup. If you love
the sound of a bright and clear single-coil pickup, but hate the hum,
then we have what you’ve been searching for. The ceramic bar magnet
provides a balanced guitar tone, especially during big string bends.
The S has plenty of output to give your sound top end sizzle while
maintaining solid lows with articulation and presence. Whether you are
playing jazz, country, metal or blues, the versatility is undeniable.
SAV
The
SAV is a single coil pickup that has all the tone, clarity, and
responsiveness guitar players demand with a vintage look enthusiasts
will love. While similar to the SV, the SAV uses flat Alnico V pole
pieces rather than traditional staggered pole pieces. This makes the
SAV more balanced for newer instruments designed with a flatter
fretboard radius.
The tone of the SAV is modeled after the
early Strat™ pickups, giving players that familiar "quack" and punch.
This marriage of vintage design and state of the art electronics gives
the SAV a much smoother tonal response when played clean or with
overdrive. If you're looking for a quiet single coil pickup with a
vintage look and sound, the SAV is a perfect choice.
