SK5 Blade Rust Prevention & Maintenance
SK5 high-carbon steel blades provide excellent hardness and wear resistance. Like other high-carbon steel, the blades should be properly maintained to help prevent surface rust.
To keep the blades in good condition:
-
Clean after use
Remove grass, leaves, sap and other residue from the blades after each use.
-
Keep the blades dry
Do not store the hedge trimmer while the blades are wet. Dry them thoroughly after cleaning.
-
Apply a light coat of oil
Apply a small amount of suitable anti-rust or lubricating oil to the blade surface after cleaning, especially before long-term storage.
-
Store in a dry place
Keep the tool in a cool, dry and well-ventilated location. Avoid prolonged exposure to rain, humidity or condensation.
-
Regular maintenance
For frequent use, periodically clean and lubricate the blades to maintain smooth operation and help protect against corrosion.
Important: SK5 is high-carbon steel, not stainless steel. Proper cleaning, drying and lubrication are recommended to help prevent rust and maintain blade performance.
