Magdolna Szabó (b. 1958) is a Hungarian-Swedish artist. Lived in Lund since 1985.
Magdolna Szabó uses the circle, the globe and the sphere as building blocks in her works. By repeating this basic form endlessly, she creates movement and space in her works, which are often large in size. The simplicity is apparent in Szabó's complex paintings. Nothing is stable here. All elements seem to be in motion, as if the shapes were detaching themselves from the paper and as if the foreground and background were constantly changing places with each other. The geometric variations of the images are reminiscent of concrete art, l´art concret. The colors play against each other, while the color treatment is extremely sensitive.
