Up for sale is a classic, vintage Olympus Tokyo HSC Monocular Microscope. Made in Japan, this iconic student/laboratory microscope features a robust hammer-tone grey enamel frame and exceptional optical quality engineering from Olympus. It comes equipped with a 3-objective turret and a built-in substage condenser with an adjustable iris diaphragm.

Condition Report
This unit is in great vintage cosmetic condition with minor age-related wear to the enamel as shown in the photographs. Mechanically, the rack-and-pinion coarse focus and fine adjustment knobs turn smoothly. The optics on the eyepiece and objectives are clear and clean. Please note that this unit does not include a bottom mirror or sub-stage lamp light source, making it an ideal piece for collectors, a parts donor, or a functional lab instrument once a light source is paired.

Please read before you buy

Condition. Items are sold as surplus, pre-owned, or “as is” and may be untested. Photos may be a sample of stock we hold.

Safety. You are responsible for having any item inspected and tested for safe operation before you use or resell it.

Warranty. Any warranty is provided by AusChoice only. The original manufacturer’s warranty may not apply.

Returns. No refunds for change of mind, and items sold “AS IS” cannot be returned. Report a not-as-described item within 30 days of receiving it.

Freight. Freight for large, bulky, or international orders is not included in the item price and may be invoiced separately after purchase.

  • Orders have a handling period of 1-3 business days and are dispatched from Brisbane. We will notify you when an item ships.
  • Local pickup is from Wacol QLD 4076, Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm AEST, and after hours by appointment.
  • Couriers do not deliver to PO Boxes. Please give us a physical address, and allow up to 10 working days from dispatch.
  • Large, bulky, or international orders may ship by freight. Freight is not included in the item price and may be invoiced separately after purchase. International carriers are EMS, DHL, or FedEx.
  • We recommend transit insurance. We are not responsible for carrier delays or handling damage, and any delivery damage should be reported straight away.
  • If a pickup item is left uncollected, we may dispose of it under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1967, after written notice and a further 28 days.
  • No refunds for change of mind.
  • Goods sold “AS IS” cannot be returned.
  • If an item is not as described, let us know within 30 days of receiving it.
  • We may test the item before giving a refund.
  • Postage, handling, and return postage costs are not refundable.
  • A GST tax invoice is included with every purchase.
  • Prices are GST inclusive for Australian buyers only.
  • Accepted payment methods are shown at checkout.
  • International buyers are responsible for any duties, taxes, and tariffs in the destination country.
  • Only goods specifically described as having a warranty period are covered.
  • Any warranty is provided by AusChoice alone; the original manufacturer’s warranty may not apply.
  • A warranty covers the original purchaser only and cannot be transferred.
  • If an item is dead on arrival or not as described, let us know within 30 days of receiving it. We will assess it and offer an exchange, repair, or refund at our discretion.
  • The buyer pays return postage and must include a copy of the invoice.
  • The warranty does not cover consumables, transit damage, compatibility or suitability problems, misuse, unauthorised modification or repair, accidental or environmental damage, cosmetic wear, or items with removed serial numbers or tampered seals.
  • Items sold “For Parts” or “As Is” are not tested and carry no warranty.
  • Use of any item bought from AusChoice is at your own risk.
  • An order is an offer to buy. It does not become a binding contract until we have accepted it and dispatched the goods.
  • If a price or description is wrong, we are not obliged to sell on those terms. We will reconfirm the order with you, or cancel it and refund you in full.
  • Items are surplus, pre-owned, or untested and may not meet current safety standards.
  • Before you use or resell any item, whether electrical, mechanical, pressure, lifting, or otherwise, you are responsible for having it inspected and tested for safe operation and for checking it meets the regulations and standards for your use.
  • For electrical items we do not warrant compliance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002. Have them tested by a licensed electrical contractor to AS/NZS 3760 before use or resale.
  • AusChoice accepts no liability for the end use, certification, or safe operation of any item.
  • AusChoice is an independent specialist in the resale of surplus and pre-owned equipment.
  • We are not an authorised dealer, agent, or representative for any brand featured.
  • All logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification.
  • If we breach these terms, our liability for any loss is limited to the net purchase price of the item (not including taxes and delivery).
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or data, or any failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.
  • Nothing in these terms removes a liability the law does not allow us to remove, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where those consumer guarantees apply, and where the law permits, our liability is limited to replacing or repairing the goods, or paying the cost of doing so.
  • You agree to indemnify AusChoice and its officers, employees, agents, and contractors against all claims, damages, losses, and costs (including legal fees) that arise from your use of our services, your breach of these terms, or your breaching any law or the rights of a third party.
