In the 1930s, The Texas Company (Texaco) bought the rights to the artwork for a national advertising campaign. The block text "LISTEN" was added below the dogs to encourage motorists to listen to the smooth sound of their cars running on Texaco oil and gasoline.

The piece is professionally framed and mounted under glass. The frame is balck painted wood. It is mounted over an olive colored textured paper that nicely compliments the work.
