This bird wall hanging, 3.0 ft square, is a hand-stitched khayamiya piece from Egypt, a joyful tree scene in layered cotton applique on a crisp white background.

A tree with twisting brown and orange branches carries lush green leaves and red, purple and orange blooming flowers. Six birds in blue, yellow, red and purple perch in the branches, and near the top center one bird feeds a baby nestled in a woven brown nest. A deep navy blue outer border and a light blue inner accent frame the scene.
