This is a highly unusual piece of Cuban political and graphic history, combining pre-revolutionary electoral propaganda with a strong sports and baseball theme, two subjects deeply connected to Cuban popular culture.
The poster shows a large illustrated portrait of the candidate, with the slogan “Bune Alcalde” at the bottom. In the upper section, the design includes the words “Deportes”, “Mercado” and “Dos ansias del pueblo”, together with sports imagery including a baseball scene, making the piece especially attractive for collectors of Cuban political memorabilia, baseball history, Latin American campaign posters, and pre-1959 Cuban ephemera.
The lower right area includes political symbols and slogans such as “Patria y Libertad / Justicia y Trabajo”, adding further historical interest.
Printed by Chromos Habana, visible on the left side of the poster.
Measurements:
Approx. 20” x 15”
Approx. 50.8 x 38.1 cm
Condition:
Original vintage condition with visible age wear. The poster shows creases, cracks, edge wear, corner wear, stains, small losses, and general handling marks consistent with age and use. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
Despite its condition, this is a scarce and visually striking Cuban campaign poster, especially desirable because of its baseball and sports-related political message.
A rare pre-revolution Cuban cardboard poster combining politics, sports, baseball, and popular culture — a strong display piece for an advanced Cuba, baseball, or political memorabilia collection.
