Tropical uniforms were only issued in small numbers at first, and only really became widespread in 1967 or so. This type, which began to appear early in 1965, is therefore much MUCH rarer than the "normal" jackets you more often see. It's got features like epaulets, waist tabs, and a gas flap that were all removed on later versions. The epaulets were even removed from this pattern halfway through the production run, making this example especially uncommon!
The jacket has some stains and wear holes scattered about (EXTREMELY common on this sort of thing, as the tropical environment of Vietnam caused uniforms to degrade very quickly), but otherwise in good condition. All buttons are present, and there's no sign of insignia ever having been mounted. The size tag (medium short) is falling off, and is only held on by a bit of thread.

I am a longtime collector of Cold War military equipment. However, as the need to pay for grad school looms on the horizon, I am now selling off a good portion of my collection. Follow me to see my latest listings, and grab some fascinating history (and other stuff) at great prices! I am a collector more than a salesman, and so I'm quite happy to do whatever I can to ensure that you get what you're looking for.
It should be noted that I am a bit colorblind. As such, every so often there may be an issue where I've missed spots of mild discoloration or incorrectly described an item's shade. I do my best to accurately represent the items I sell, but please let the pictures be the judge, and if there's a problem, don't hesitate to get in touch with me about it.
I'm always happy to combine shipping! Unfortunately eBay makes that process difficult sometimes, but if you can't request an invoice, go ahead and buy what you want and I will refund the difference!
