This antique color lithograph postcard features the Bismarckdenkmal (Bismarck Monument) located in Johannapark, Leipzig, Germany. This specific monument was famous for its grand scale and for depicting the "Iron Chancellor" alongside his faithful dog, Tyras, and a blacksmith figure symbolizing German industry.  This monument was demolished in 1946; therefore, this postcard serves as a valuable historical record of a lost German landmark.  This postcard was published by Verlag L. Pernitzsch, Leipzig, has a divided back, and is stamped and postmarked.
