Antique Tibetan Nepalese Bronze Figure of Tara – Himalayan Buddhist Shrine Statue – 19th Century

A finely cast antique Tibetan or Nepalese bronze figure depicting the Buddhist goddess Tara, seated in lalitasana upon an open lotus throne with detailed floral and jewellery decoration.

This attractive Himalayan devotional bronze displays strong Newar-influenced workmanship, with elegant facial modelling, detailed lotus stems and a rich dark brown-black ritual patina developed through age and handling. The reverse is well finished, indicating a higher quality casting than the majority of later tourist-market examples.

Likely produced during the 19th century for shrine or domestic devotional use.
