Item Description:

Offered for sale is an authentic Red Bishop replacement piece from a Victorian-era Barleycorn style bone chess set.

Material: Hand-turned bovine bone featuring a deep red dyed finish.

Design: Exhibits the classic Barleycorn "pulpit" body with a distinctively tiered and ribbed beehive finial.

Dimensions: Stands approximately 2 inches tall, as shown.

Construction: Solid hand-turned bone. The craftsmanship is evident in the precise, concentric lathing visible in a photo.

Condition: This piece displays genuine antique character. As seen in photos there are some honest surface wear and light loss to the red staining on the high points of the turning. The base is flat and remains structurally sound, as pictured.

An excellent opportunity to replace a missing Bishop in an original mid-Victorian set.
