| A platinum RIAA sales award presented to Ed Germano of Hit Factory Records to commemorate the sale of more than 2,000,000 copies of the cassette and CD ‘Bedtime Stories’ by Madonna, released in 1994. Provenance: accompanied by a letter of provenance from Danielle Germano, Edward Germano’s daughter. This item is from Danielle Germano’s personal collection. For over three decades The Hit Factory Entertainment shaped the sound of modern music. Purchased in 1975 by singer and producer Eddie Germano, the studio gained fame for its exceptional sound quality, state-of-the-art technology and its role in capturing the sound of iconic artists of the latter 20th century. This legendary studio booked recording sessions with Madonna, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Biggie Smalls, Celine Dion, Fleetwood Mac, and countless others. Some notable albums recorded at the Hit Factory include Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’, Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ and John Lennon’s final album ‘Double Fantasy’. The award measures 32cm x 43cm (12.6 inches x 16.9 inches). It has a few light marks and scratches around the frame. The backing paper on the back is slightly worn and peeled on the lower corners. The condition is excellent. |
