Bring branch-line character to your HO layout with WalthersMainline's Alco RSC-2 in Union Pacific yellow with red trim, road number 1288. The RSC-2 was Alco's six-axle answer to lighter-rail branch and secondary lines — same 1,500 hp prime mover as the popular four-axle RS-2, but with the locomotive's weight spread across six axles for service over rails that couldn't handle a heavier loco. This Standard DC version runs straight out of the box, with a 21-pin DCC plug AND pre-installed speaker — easy DCC sound upgrade later.

Will it run on standard DC?
Yes — the 910-10725 is a Standard DC analog model. Connect to any DC powerpack and it's ready to go.
Can I add DCC sound later?
Yes. The RSC-2 has a 21-pin DCC plug AND a factory pre-installed speaker, so adding a 21-pin sound decoder (e.g., ESU LokSound, SoundTraxx Tsunami2) is a straightforward drop-in upgrade.
RS-2 vs. RSC-2 — what's the difference?
The RSC-2 is the six-axle (A1A-A1A trucks) version of Alco's popular four-axle RS-2. The extra axles spread weight more evenly along lighter branch-line rail. Same prime mover, same body — different trucks. UP uséd them on lighter branches where heavier road switchers weren't allowed.
What minimum radius is recommended?
18-inch radius — friendly for most home layouts. Wider radii (22"+) recommended for best appearance.

Squeaky’s Trains & Things LLC was founded in December of 2019. It was started by our family that has been in love with everything, trains large and small, driven by creativity since we were born. We grew up playing with model trains and watching, learning about and studying different aspects of magnificent locomotives on a daily basis and today we still do.

We realized local train stores were barely available and we also wanted to start offering other model railroading fans our self-made creations for their enjoyment. We want to help the community around us by providing model railroad supplies and continue the legend of the greatest hobby on earth, model trains and railroading!
